In addition to being inspired by the lavender plant, inspiration for the design was drawn from the Memphis Design Movement which was characterised by its use of rounded shapes and curves, and contrasting colours.

Pure: The Skin Aesthetic Clinic has been designed to act as both a physical and mental healing facility. This has been achieved by addressing 5 specific design factors. The consistent use of plants, greenery and natural materials alludes to biophilic design. A light and natural colour palette with lavender acting as a contrasting accent colour address the colour aesthetics of the space. Natural daylight has been maximised and strongly utilised throughout both the ground and first floor. Soft furnishings and sound-absorbing materials have been employed to create a peaceful and calming environment. Finally, the furniture has been custom-designed for maximum comfort and made using natural and locally sourced materials.

The Green Building Council of South Africa's Green Star Rating has been addressed within the design of Pure. The design addresses where credits will be achieved for the Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Catergory, Material Category and Water Category.
