Windermere Apartment Merge

As an interior designer, I was required to effectively space plan in order to meet the spatial requirements requested by the client whilst also taking into consideration the client's desired design style, which was traditional modern with a warm colour palette.

Throughout the entire space, the element of line was consistently used to create a sense of harmony as it unites the different rooms and creates a restful and peaceful space. A visual sense of balance was developed through the successful use of the design elements of colour, pattern and texture - this is seen in the living room where a combination of warm neutral colours has been used alongside texture from the fabric on the couch and rug, and pattern on the flooring and walls. Additionally, by consistently and repetitively using the same colour palette and visual design elements of line and shape, a sense of rhythm has been established throughout the apartment space which has developed a sense of comfort and wholesomeness.

The material and furniture, is sourced from local companies within South Africa so that it is easily accessible and supports the country's economy. Additionally, some sustainable and environmentally-friendly materials were selected as this has become an important concept for designers to align themselves to as individuals are becoming more aware of the impact that they have on the environment.
